Sync now covers theme, language and usage stats across devices
JustZix cloud sync has long kept your folders, groups and rule sets in agreement across devices. Recent versions extended it to three things that used to be device-only: the theme, the interface language and usage statistics. This post explains exactly what changes — and what still stays per-device.
Theme and language follow you
Until now, switching to the dark theme or changing the panel language only applied on that one device. Both values now travel to the cloud as a single settings entity. Change the theme on your laptop and the next time you open the panel on your work computer you see the same thing. You configure the extension once, not separately on every machine.
Usage statistics summed across devices
The „Usage statistics” tile on the Dashboard counts real CSS injections, JS runs and window displays. The counters used to be purely local — on a second device they showed zero. Now each device publishes its counters as a separate entity and the tile sums the values across every paired device. You see your real, combined use of the extension, not a slice from one computer.
What stays per-device
Not everything is worth syncing. Clicks on individual actions are still counted on the action itself and travel as part of its entity. TEMP window state, open editors and cursor position are ephemeral and local — that is momentary working context, not configuration you would want to carry over.
Along the way: a fixed sync cursor bug
A recent version fixed a rare but serious bug. After pushing changes, the extension moved the pull cursor too far and could permanently skip entities written by another device. The result was libraries drifting apart despite a „zero pending changes” message. The cursor now advances only after data is actually pulled and applied, and the first run of the fixed version performs a one-off full pull to bring libraries back to a shared state.
